We always charge an initial $69 estimate fee to cover our tech's time to fully diagnose the problem. When we send your final bill, we credit the $69 back. Simple as that, no surprise charges.

A licensed technician comes out and diagnoses it in person. No guessing over the phone.
You Get Options in Writing
If there is a repair path and a replacement path, you see both, with the estimate for each. Our tech will tell you what he would do in your position if you ask him. He will not push you.
You Decide
If you want to think about it overnight or get another quote, that is a completely reasonable thing to do.

Water Heater Questions, Answered
Do you offer 24 hour emergency service?
We do not. We are a local crew, not a national call center, and we would rather be honest about that. If your water heater is actively leaking right now, shut off the cold water supply valve on top of the tank and shut off the gas or breaker to it, then call us first thing. Knowing where your main water shutoff is located is one of the most useful things a homeowner can know. Our customers are welcome to call us after hours and we will do our best to walk you through what we would do to hold off until morning.
Should I repair it or replace it?
It depends on the age of the unit and what failed. A thermostat on a four year old heater is worth fixing. A leaking tank at eleven years is not. Our technician will show you the numbers on both and you decide.
How much does it cost?
Every home and every water heater is different, so we will not quote a number on a website that we cannot stand behind at your address. What we will do is break down the cost of the service before we schedule it, and give you a written estimate before any work begins. No hidden costs get added after the fact.
Do you work on water heaters you did not install?
Yes. Most of what we service, someone else put in.
Why do water heaters fail faster in Cache Valley?
Hard water. In the homes we test, Cache Valley water typically runs 22 to 28 grains per gallon, which is well past the point the industry calls very hard. Those dissolved minerals settle out as sediment in the bottom of your tank, which forces the burner to heat through a layer of scale and corrodes the tank from the inside. It is the single biggest reason water heaters here do not last as long as the manufacturer says they should, and it is why a lot of valley homeowners eventually add a softener.
